401(k) Plans

401(k) plans provide the employee with an opportunity to save in a nontaxable environment. Thus, these plans establish a partnership created by the employer and the employee working together for the future security of both.

The key to a successful plan is the development of a system where the record keeping, investment, and administrative functions work together smoothly and accurately. A cost effective, turnkey system maximizes the benefits to both the employer and employee.

To compete for quality employees and to make optimum use of employee benefits as a tax and compensation-planning tool, EBAC brings the highest level of integration plan services and counsel to employers of all sizes.

Cafeteria Plans

Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code permits an employer to establish a plan allowing employees to pay for certain expenses on a pretax basis. Expenses may include such items as group insurance premiums, dependent care, and medical reimbursement coverage.

The tax consequences for both the employer and employee are significant. The contributions made by an employee through salary reduction are not subject to local, state, or federal income taxation, or to social security contributions by the employee or the employer.
